As the co-founders of a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching and empowering the lives of girls in our foster care system, my daughter and I hope to open up doors for young women often forgotten about. The ‘Sisterhood’ funds programs that target pro-visionary needs and focus on the building of lasting relationships so that our girls know they have a community of support cheering them on. We have been blessed enough to provide assistance for one local foster care facility but now aim to expand our reach so that we can elevate and uplift the lives of underserved kids from coast to coast. Though many might believe it’s the girls who benefit from our programs most, I find my philanthropic work especially rewarding. It gives me purpose, it fuels my passions and inspires me to be the best I can be.
Quimby Franovich Art + Design
All of my art comes from the heart. Incredibly fortunate to be making a living doing what I love and inspired by the resiliency of the human spirit, I have made it a point to give back and do what I can to promote a brighter future for underprivileged children. My goal is to leave a legacy for generations to come by means of my artistic abilities. With 10% of the profits generated from each sale being awarded directly to the Sisterhood, our empowerment programs are fully funded by art. In addition to funding programs and workshops, we have also designed and sponsored an art studio for a nearby foster home with which we’ve built a close relationship. Countless foster kids have benefited from our immersive art classes and group projects structured to engage the creative mind.
